"Just Take a Deep Breath In and a Deep Breath Out" Who’s kidding who... if you are a business owner or a leader in your industry while raising a family or dependents, this pandemic and these shut downs are tough.... really tough. I feel your pain and frustrations - postponing of important meetings, barking dogs, fighting siblings, toddlers that want constant attention, spouses wondering why the house is a mess, crying - oh, the crying that makes you want to cry. I was near wits end . Wanted to have a pity party. Wanted my wife and the world to say “wow steve, you are the man - you’re doing it all (and my wife would add ”and looking good doing it”). That didn’t happen. "Just take a deep breath in and a deep breath out" says my wife to me "that's the advice you give me when I'm acting....." Turns out - her/my advice is great advice. I took a couple of deep breaths.  Took gratitude that we are raising healthy and confident kids. That we have systems and structures place to help with our success. Put my iPhone away, rescheduled my working hours, and looking forward to a fresh start this and every morning... How are you coping? What advice are you listening to? What advice are you giving? Stay safe and sane! You got this!!

New provincial support and existing federal support update It’s been a difficult week for Nova Scotians and all Canadian with high case numbers being reported consistently. This new wave is the most serious we have seen in a full year. The province sadly announced two deaths today, and our thoughts and hearts are with their families. We have to stick together (from a distance) and as the former premier says "Stay the Blazes Home" - just till this passes... Yesterday, the Nova Scotia Provincial Government announced one new program and an update for two previously announced programs, Federal and provincial updates are ever evolving - the best resource I have come across can be found on the Halifax Chamber Website. To date, the best program for Business Owners is Canada Emergency Business Account: :If you are a small business or non-profit, you may be eligible for an interest-free loan of up to 60,000 of which 20,000 will be forgiven.
